Tampa Unity's Supper Club is an adult
social activity. It provides an opportunity for singles and
couples from the church to get to know each other and become
friends. In Supper Club, our emphasis is on camaraderie, not
activities.
|
Thanks to the efforts of Sandy Mitchell and Bill Cook,
Supper Club began in 1993. The original Circle had only six members.
In 2008, we began our 16th year!
|
Supper Club has its annual "Kick-Off" dinner each
year in mid-September. That's when we form new Circles, each
with 10-11 members. These Circles stay together for one
year, then they disband and we form new circles at the next
kick-off dinner. |
 |
As a Circle member, you agree to host a potluck dinner, with
a simple activity, once during the 12-month period (couples host
twice). The obligation to host rotates throughout the Circle until
everyone has had a turn. At the monthly dinner, the host provides
the entrée and each group member brings something to share. The
dinners are usually in a home or in a restaurant (Dutch treat, of
course), but they can also be very informal, like a cookout or a
sunset picnic on the beach!
 |
Supper Club is a fun way to make new friends, and
meeting together on a monthly basis allows us to get to know
one another on a deep level. However, a successful Super
Club experience requires a commitment on the part of Circle
members to attend regularly. |
