Finding Home

Home is a place, the writer Thomas Wolfe said, where you cannot return to find solace. Jesus spoke of being a stranger in his own home. And Dorothy of Oz found that home was a place within her, and there was no other place quite like it! All speak of the idea in our minds of how we perceive home. Accepting things as they are; Hoping for things that may be

  The month of August for Unity of Tampa means we are thinking about the theme of Acceptance. The idea of Acceptance is not a mere passive act. It is the idea that we may face reality and accept things as they are, but not as they may be. The theme of acceptance brings to mind the inspiration that is found in the Serenity Prayer by the theologian Reinhold Niebuhr.  My father loved this prayer, and kept a copy on his desk.
